The Federal government in collaboration with Bauchi state
government will establish a rice mill in kirfi Local Government.
The Head of Millennium Service in the Bauchi state Ministry
of Agriculture, Mr. Daniel Ishaku Zwall made this known in an interview with
BFR FM Kirfi reporter in the Local Government secretariat.
Mr. Daniel Ishaku Zwall said, the Federal Government has
selected three local governments from the tree geo-political zone in the state to
establish the factory which includes: Jama’are Local Government from Bauchi
North, Ningi Local Government from Bauchi central and kirfi Local Government
from Bauchi south.
He said, the federal government will train rice farmers in
the Local Government on the type of seeds to plant for the project.
He said, rice farmers after harvest, will bring their farm
produce which will be processed free of charge in the rice mill without paying
a kobo.
Mr. Daniel Ishaku said, the rice mill will enhance the
creation of job opportunities for the
teeming youths in the Local Government.
He said the federal government project in the Local
Government will increase revenue generation to the Local Government.
Contributing, the head of Administration of the Local
Government Alhaji Adamu Zalanga expresses his satisfaction for selecting kirfi
Local Government as one of the Local Government that is to benefit from the
federal Government project.
Alh. Adamu Aliyu Zalanga said, the Local Government council
will do everything possible to provide a befitting location for the establishment
of the factory in the Local Government.
He said, the Local Government has since provided a site in
Badara area at the Local Government for the project.
He said, this will in no-small measures provide job
opportunities for the teeming youths in the area.
