CRIPPLED
Political office holders have been urged to include crippled in their policies and programmes.

The chairman, Dass local government Chapter of the National Association of the Crippled, Comrade Danjuma Garba Dass disclosed this when delivering a speech at a Joint meeting of  Bauchi South Chapter of the association  held at Kirfi Cheledi Central Primary school.

Comrade Danjuna Garba said, members of the association practice their franchise during elections but are left behind immediately after the election.

He said, political office holders isolate their members because of their disability, forgetting that they have role to play during elections.

Commenting the secretary of the association in Kirfi Local Government, comrade Umar A. Umar urged the government at all levels to provide skills acquisition materials as well as scholarships to the members of the association.

Comrade Umar A. Umar call on non-governmental organization as well as philanthropist to assist the members of association by training them in various skills to reduce the rate of street begging among its members.

Ealier, Sarkin Guragun Kirfi, Malam Garba Beni said, the aim of the meeting is to cheer unity among members of the association in Bauchi South.

Malam Garba Beni said, this will make the association stronger.

During the forum, the members elected the chairman of the chapter and the secretary.
Those elected are: Comrade Ya’u Abdulmumini ( Sarkin Yamman                                  Sarkin Guragun Bauchi) and the Chairman of the association Toro local government branch as chairman and comrade Umar A. Umar (Danruwatan Cheledi) as secretary.

In his remark, the newly elected chairman, Bauchi south chapter of the National Association of the Crippled, Comrade Ya’u Abdulmumin thanked the members of the association for giving him the mandate.

Comrade Ya’u expressed his readiness to work with all members to move the association forward.  
He commended Governor Isah Yuguda and his wife Hajiya Hauwa Abiodun Isah Yuguda for assisting the members of the association with relief materials.
Comrade Ya’u  Abdulmumin prayed for Allahu (S.W.A) to guide them in their future endeavor.
