National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu has said that the new modus operandi of the party is to ensure that it gets popular and capable candidates that could win elections at a go come 2015.

 NATIONAL CHAIRMAN OF PDP,
SEN. ADAMU MU’AZU; EMIR OF BAUCHI,
ALHAJI RILWANU ADAMU AND GOV. ISA YUGUDA OF BAUCHI STATE

Mu’azu explained that under the new drive which could only be realized through fairness and justice is to ensure that each and every candidate that stand for election emerge a winner.

“We will make sure that we get popular horses, capable horses, horses that will take us to win each and every election, so that when we declare you winner of primaries, you will win that election”, he declared.

The PDP National Chairman, who was responding to various speeches made at a state reception organized for him in Bauchi weekend, also assured that his leadership will deepen democracy in the party through obedience to the rule of law.

He therefore advised any member aspiring to any elective office come 2015 to canvass people’s support right from the base or ward as the surest way of getting the party’s ticket for the polls.

Mu’azu also while assuring that he would not be an obstacle to any party member aspiring for any elective position, vowed to provide a level playing ground for all aspirants in the PDP.

“For anybody that has aspiration Ahmadu Mu’azu cannot be an obstacle to him, I’m going to provide not only in Bauchi but Nigeria a plain flaying ground for all aspirants. What is needed for each aspirant is to go back to your village, ward, town, and the people and campaign to them”, he stated.

He then commended Governor Isa Yuguda and his counterparts in the North-east for nominating and supporting him to become the National Chairman of the PDP, saying the jinx that hitherto poses misunderstanding between him and Yuguda and their followers has already been broken.

Governor Isa Yuguda had earlier appealed to the PDP stakeholders to work hard and make Bauchi a model of democracy and success of the party in the state and the nation at large.

To this end, the Governor charged other registered political parties in Bauchi to park out of the state as, according to him, there is visibly no presence of any of them around.

Yuguda explained that everything required for running a good system and keeping people happy is in the PDP, likewise the fear of God, transparency and accountability, love for one another and humanity, hence it is a role-model as it has always being.

The North-east Zonal Chairman of the PDP, Senator Mohammed Girgi Lawal had while welcoming the stakeholders said they would soon organize a courtesy visit to President Goodluck Jonathan whom, he said, is in very much lust for the North-east sub-region.

According to him, President Goodluck Jonathan is very familiar with all the challenges and peculiarities of the North-east geo-political zone, hence the need for the courtesy visit as already done by the North-west zone.

Describing politics as a game of winning elections, Senator Girgi Lawal stressed the need for party members to march forward in unison and understanding one another, and tell themselves the bitter truth for the overall success of the party.

He also described as enormous the challenges and difficult tasks before the party’s national chairman, Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu, saying however that Mu’azu has the capacity and ability to do the most impossible in the party.

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed who spoke on behalf of ministers in the sub-region, expressed optimism that Mu’azu based upon his antecedence and penetration will reconcile warring members and bring success to the party.

Senator Bala Mohammed while pledging their unalloyed support to the party’s national chairman further declared, “As a major beneficiary of the party, Jonathan administration and Mallam Isa Yuguda, if I don’t support you then I’m a bastard”.
